Welcome the new year 2009

Life is finally back to normal here after the holidays. I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and a great start to the new year. I have a few too many projects started and I look forward to sharing them. here is my new digital desktop.

Jan2009desktopweb

After all the Christmas presents, Quinn found her most pleasure playing with a balloon and Grandma. She is at that wonderful stage where she backs herself into sitting on my lap to do and watch just about everything.

This is a free digital desktop from Shabby Miss Jenns.

You must take a look at the Stampin' up Valentine special on my right sidebar. I love the look of this pretty paper and stamp set. And I am a sucker for punches!

Jared star

I loved these pictures of a small boy ( my Grandson) playing with a big boy toy, as though he really knows how. And he has that "cool" swagger, too! This was a digital scrapbook template by Andrea Gold and her kit Just For Fun. She has a website here. She is offering this kit free with a sign up to one of her digital classes. I took the beginner photoshop class and learned so much! She was very good about explaining and follow up questions. It was a good experience!

Digital template challenge

Quinn-bd20088x8-copyweb

ThiS was a template challenge that I participated in. They gave me the template and then I made the page digitally. I uploaded it into their gallery for a free digital kit. I have never done a template before. It wasn't difficult, except for correcting all my mistakes. I must have made the same wrong moves a hundred times.

Peter sleep study Digital Scrapbook Page

Petersleepyqp8x8web

This was made from a kit by Daleen Cubbage called Planet polka dot

I made this digital scrapbook quickpage of my youngest son Peter having a sleep study at the hospital. He was excited, thinking he would have room service and a TV all his own. He wasn't too sure about being alone and all the wires. The sleep study showed a heart arrhythmia. And two days with a Holter monitor allayed our fears. He was pretty normal. Well......

Thankful - Turkey Noodle Soup Jar Mix

Turkeysoup-jars

I found this wonderful idea in a magazine at the library. It is a jar mix for turkey noodle soup recipe. How perfect for the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving. The ingredients were very easy, I had most of them at home. Here is a  pdf  Download turkeysoupjarmix.pdf   of the jar mix recipe.

I used Stampin' Up  Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper to cut circles for the jar lids. I used the circle nestability die on my Sizzix Big shot machine. I used Kiwi Kiss cardstock and the envelope die from Stampin' up to make the envelope.

I created a digital label and printed them on whisper white cardstock. If you would like to use this same recipe card, you may download it free from here.

Our Thanksgiving will be small this year. I still need to adjust to our empty nest.. But my children are well and I am grateful. We have been blessed beyond measure. I hope your Thanksgiving is full of great memories for you, and that you get them recorded.

I am joining the There is No Place Like Home Thanksgiving celebration this week. There will be many great ideas, from ladies all over, to help us concentrate on our thanksgiving blessings.

Giving Thanks

Beautiful - a scrapbook page

BeautifulQuinnweb

Here is the other digital Quick page of our Granddaughter, Quinn. Her Mom made this hair bow for her, and she actually keeps it on for quite a while. Isn't it fabulous? I only had one daughter, and she was right in the middle between Nitro( Peter) and Glycerin ( Joey) so I didn't get much chance to girly her up much. She does a great job on her own as a semi- adult. In fact, she is beautiful, but I still wish I had had more time for frills, and lace, and bows. I still want to smock for her too. Maybe a wedding dress LOL.

November Digital Desktop - corn maze

Nov08desktop-copy

Time for a new Desktop! I am wishing the months away just so I can change the picture on my  desktop. It is just too much fun! We are nearly empty-nesters - just one little guy left. He is often bored and lonely. He described our family to someone with the words, snail, and turtle, and gravestone. Do you think his parents are really that old?  True, we have been asked by our peers if he was our Grandson, but we can still walk without a cane. How much longer? Not too long, he is wearing his parents down to the bone. Here we are at a corn maze. Did he love the adventure? Nope - too boring.

This free digital desktop is available at Shabby Miss Jenns.
