I met Shelli Gardner!

Shelliconvention2007I have returned from the Stampin' Up convention in Denver Colorado where I met the founder of the company, Shelli Gardner -in person even. She was very warm and easy to talk to even in our jammies.
We were all at the convention for the opening pajama rama make and take night. What fun to see all those sensible minded women in their pajamas, acting a little like teenage girls on a sleepover. In this picture is my upline Patricia Weitzel and a great sideline Hope Neuzerling.

Happy Deer

DeerwinI am offering a class next Tuesday, July 24th, to use the stamp set Happy Everything.  This is a great card that we will be making. I find it difficult to make masculine cards, since I like florals. But I love how this turned out. This is made as a birthday card but could easily " sport" any sentiment for the men in your life.

Maybe - "deer" you are so special.  -or i love you "deerly"-  or  "deer" be mine -or Happy anniversary "deer" -or  have no fear "deer" I'll always be heer , I mean here. Oh "deer" I fear I am over"deering".

Deer to me

DeercirclesA dear friend loaned this set to me so that I could have a chance to play with it.Thanks Kim. I love the majesty of the animals. And I love any chance I can find to watercolor with the Stampin' up wonder color crayons.  This is a sketch challenge on Fresh and Fun . I am so impressed with the other artists in the challenge and recommend that you spend a lovely moment just for your creative side and glance through  all the blogs that are participating. You will be dazzled.

I used Chocolate chip, river rock and rose red cardstock.  The stamp sets are noble deer, Baroque motifs, and holiday wishes.

jenn balcer's card was one of my favorites. I would really like to purchase Garden Whimsey stamp set.

Baroque Christmas

Bcxmas07Blogger's challenge Friday! Our challenge was to use non- traditional Christmas colors. I really don't like the colors in the picture. It is pretty in real life.  Really! I used elegant eggplant, old olive, and certainly celery. I embossed the baroque motif set in white embossing powder, and used alcohol with the inks to create a watercolor look. The sentiment is from the new Holidays and wishes stamp set.

Please take a look at all the other talented ladies in our challenge group. Their links are in my sidebar.
Merry Christmas!

Hostess gift

Hostessgift_3I found this idea on a really wonderful blog yvettes paper garden , and I used it for a special make and take for my hostess appreciation dinner. She used chapstick but I couldn't find any pink chapstick. I used extra gum instead.  I stamped special inside - get it - extra special.  Anyway, They turned out so cute. Yvette has a wonderful tutorial for making them. This would be great for so many gift idea where you need a little something. Every act of kindness is "extra" special.

Did I mention how much I love the new pick a petal stamp set?

Anniemaycard_2I just love the versatility of this Stampin'Up stamp set - Pick a petal.  I have made fun cards, serious cards, play cards, and just simple cards with this set, and I haven't even started on scrapbooks yet.
I will use the petals on my daughters page to list      ( one on each petal)  what she means to me. I will use these petals on my son's scrapbook pages as "he loves me He loves me not"  This is a wonderful set. I will probably use this set for some of my convention swaps.

I am offering this card in a kit form. I packaged enough in each kit to make 2 cards. Any stamping is already done, and all that is left is the cutting and assembly. If you would like to purchase this kit for $6.00, I accept paypal

to order the complete stamp set (Pick a Petal) and card kit : 32.95

Every woman needs a classic black dress

PickapetslbwWhat does a dress have to do with card making?  Everythng! I have a favorite black dress and I love yellow. It was a beautiful combination. I really like how the yellow pops out next to black and white. Just like my black dress, it is both dressy and casual, subtle and bold. And most of all it is comfortable for any event.

I used the new Pick a petal stamp set from Stampin' up, black and white cardstock, summer yellow ink, and a hole punch for this card.
What is your favorite color to wear with black?
