Thank you notes and etiquete
One of my favorite bloggers, Michelle Laycock , had an interesting article on writing thank yous, and I have always been a little uncertain about this part of etiquette. I was glad to read her article- michelle's article and the one that she linked to from her reading -susan fenner article
Handwritten notes are such a great way to express appreciation. I received a handwritten note this week from a teenage boy for a graduation gift I had given him. I am always impressed when a teenage boy writes anything! But I really loved this note. He was honry but very cute at it!
I appreciate receiving a thank you note is I have mailed a gift so that I know they have received it.
According to Michelle, send the note right away while it is fresh in your mind and it is easier to sincerely express your feelings. A week is a good guideline
Always send one after a party or dinner for which you received a written invitation.
Always send thank-you notes for wedding or shower gifts, for gifts when hospitalized and for sympathy cards and flowers.
It's recommended, though not required, that you send one when you have been a guest at a dinner party.
It's smart to send a thank-you after a job interview.
It's nice to send thank-you notes when friends help you out in tough situations and for gifts that were opened with the giver present and you thanked him or her at the time.
Try sending a thank-you note this year completely out of the blue. Thank a friend for his or her friendship. Thank a former teacher for his or her guidance years ago.
This being said, Thank you to all the customers and hostesses that have made my stamping business fun and worthwhile!
