It's a guy thing!

GuythingsbpageI am scrapbooking again and finishing up some older albums. This is a page from 1988, using a sketch from the february sketch for a yahoo group called scrapfromyourstash. I used only what was available and some of my scraps. I didn't use anything new or purchased recently. I like the feeling I have when I can do that, and have it serve a purpose. My thinking, Then I can buy something new from Stampin' Up  to replace it!

Family Christmas album - found

1989xmassbpageI had found these photos of my children and Christmas and scrapbooked them this week and then, couldn't find the Christmas album. This is a Christmas from 1989. And for our family, it chronicles a house fire, we had on Dec 21st od that year. The wall shows the destruction from an improperly installed fireplace. It was the first time we had used it. We were stuck in an insurance nightmare. They would only pay for it to be reinstalled as it was before the fire. But that was not code or safe. but they would not pay for the extra needed to make it code or safe. So it became a wall, a plain ordinary wall. No one was hurt, it just took forever to redo everything on both floors. And this is my scrapbook page. That adorable little girl is now 21 and the sweet baby boy is 18. Time flies.

The shape of things - a challenge

Shapedcard1 I haven't participated in blogger challenge group in a while. But I love the challenges and the other stampers in the group. This week's challenge was a shaped card.

I found my inspiration at the dollar spot in my Target store. They were a simple deck of cards, and only a dollar!
Shapedcard4 I began with magical sticky tape around the bottom edge of the card. I adhered another card to the card to make a pocket.

Shapedcard3 I covered the card with designer paper - polka dots and paisleys just using hermafix dotto glue - my favorite.  I cut two strips of coordinating paper to form a band around the "egg" pocket

Shapedcard2 I used one of the nifty flower rub - ons from sale- a - bration  on a punched 1 1/4 in round white circle, which I attached to a pink scallop punch of designer paper.

Shapedcard5 After I slipped the band over the top of the egg card, I stuffed it with shreds in a dark pink, and candy.
